What Wantam keeps, and why.
What we store
When you sign in and work, Wantam keeps: the answers you submit for marking, which questions you attempted, the marks the scheme awarded, and your sign-in identity (the name and email your Google or Apple account shares). That record exists so your progress can follow you between phones, and so your teacher — if you share your work with one — can see what the class keeps missing.
What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not rank you against other students, and we do not predict your grade — not privately, not for teachers, not for anyone.
AI processing
Wantam uses AI to help produce its tutoring, marking and study recommendations. Your answers are sent to our AI provider to be marked and are handled under our agreement with them; marks always come from official-style marking schemes, and you can question any of them in the app.
Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act (2019) you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to privacy@wantam.ai and we will answer within 30 days. Deleting your data deletes your progress — that is what deletion means, so we will confirm before acting.
